“Busking” – A Creative Documentary

How do you connect with others?

Busking is my second project from my first semester at the Huston Film School, National University of Ireland Galway.

On Ireland’s west coast, Galway is a creatively vibrant city, highlighted by a community of talented street musicians. Busking explores this world of magical (and casual) music, through the eyes of the wonderfully gifted Sonny Casey. What follows is a story about human connection.

In Directing class, we were given free reign to explore any topic we desired. Unlike our group projects, this one was completely individual from start to finish and had no parameters, save for a 3-5 minute length. It was a “creative” documentary in the truest sense of the word.

It was an invigorating experience to explore my passion my heart-centered storytelling against the backdrop of musical expression. I hope you enjoy the film!

Please check out Sonny Casey on Facebook and Soundcloud. Her music will move you.

Special thanks to Angelina Look for her work on Sound.
